We want to confirm the plans below are mostly a go! We have not yet had enough commitment to have the double handed class. But most everything else is in order.

Covid-19 Update 5/14/20

2020 Racers,

The Grosse Pointe Farms Boat Club plans to conduct both our Spring and Summer Series this year.

This is predicated on being permitted to do so by both the State, and Pier Park.

Our current plan is to race on 6/4, 6/11, 6/18, 6/25, and 7/2 for the Spring Series. Please note this is shifted one week later than our usual schedule. Our Summer Series will be 7/30, 8/6, 8/13, 8/20, 8/27, with the awards party being tentatively scheduled for after the final race as usual. We must conform to any distancing restrictions in place at that time, which could affect our ability to hold the event.

We are requesting those that are interested in participating to please register ASAP. We will confirm the classes once we get the registrations in. We understand some will not be able to join us, and we respect all decisions. Everyone needs to be able to do what they feel comfortable and safe doing. Our desire to conduct the races is centered on the fact that Sailboat racing is a low contact good first step at getting back into the world.

When registering, if you are interested in participating in a double handed class, please indicate so. We would like to offer that if there is enough commitment. We have also had interest in a one design class for the Nonsuch sailors. We are happy to field a class for any group of 5 or more registered boats.

We will offer credit or refund if we are unable to conduct the series due to restrictions from the State or Pier Park.
